Bactigras

Bactigras is a sterile, antiseptic, soft paraffin gauze dressing containing chlorhexidine, designed to soothe and protect wounds, while helping to reduce infection and inflammation. It's suitable for various wounds like burns, lacerations, abrasions, and leg ulcers.

What it is: Bactigras is a type of wound dressing, specifically a medicated paraffin tulle gras, made from open-weave gauze.

Active Ingredient: It contains chlorhexidine, an antiseptic that is effective against a wide range of bacteria.

Purpose

  • Soothes and protects the wound.
  • Reduces the risk of infection and inflammation.
  • Allows the wound to drain freely into an absorbent secondary dressing.

Suitable for:

  • Minor burns.
  • Lacerations.
  • Abrasions.
  • Graft sites.
  • Leg ulcers.
  • Wounds at risk of infection that cover no more than 10% of the body area.

How it works: The chlorhexidine antiseptic is slowly released from the dressing, providing long-lasting action against a range of bacteria.

How to use: Bactigras is intended for use as a wound contact layer, and should be covered with an absorbent secondary dressing.
