Apparent Wetter 600

Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant is a spray additive designed for use with fungicides, insecticides and weedkillers.

Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant increases the activity and efficiency of pesticides and herbicides. It increases wetting and improves spray coverage.

Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant can be used with alkaline sprays and mixes easily with all types of water. It will not injure the most tender foliage if usedas directed. Spray only to the point where leaves are just wet. Spraying beyond this will encourage run-off, with obvious loss of spray chemicals and efficacy.

ACTIVE CONSTITUENT: 600 g/L NONYL PHENOL ETHYLENE OXIDE CONDENSATE

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Horticultural Sprays:

Add Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant at 10 mL per 100 L of spray (2 mL per 15 L knapsack).

Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant is recommended for addition to all horticultural sprays except those known to include adequate wetting agent in the formulation. Increased activity will be obtained by increasing the rate for waxy leafed plants which are normally hard to wet. It is important to spray only to the point of wetness.

Excessive use of wetting agents can cause run-off of active ingredient with consequent loss of efficiency.

Herbicides:

Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant may be added to all post-emergence herbicide sprays to increase their efficiency except those which are known to contain adequate wetting agent in the formulation. Wetter should be added only where directed on individual labels as use with selective herbicides outside label directions may reduce crop selectively.

For foliar active herbicides, spray to the point where leaves and stems are just wet. Spraying beyond this will encourage run-off, with obvious loss of spray chemicals and efficacy. When spraying waxy or hairy leafed plants which are normally hard to wet, increased activity will be obtained by increasing the rate of Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant. It is important that the leaves and stems are thoroughly wetted for foliar herbicides to work efficiently, particularly when treating dense, tall vegetation.

Paraquat and Diquat

For the maximum efficiency of these contact herbicides a higher rate of Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant must be used to ensure even and thorough coverage of plant foliage and to increase absorption.

Paraquat 250

Paraquat 250 contains wetting agents and Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant is only required if dilution rates are excessive i.e. Low chemical rates and high water rates per ha. If Paraquat 250 rate is less than the ratio of 400 mL/100 L spray volume add 100 mL Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant per 100 L of spray mix.

Paraquat + Diquat 250

Paraquat + Diquat 250 contains wetting agents and Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant is only required if dilution rates are high. If the spray volume is above 100 L/ha Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant should be added at the rate of 200 mL/100 L of additional water.

Soil Residual Herbicides

When applying soil active herbicides such as Diuron or Atrazine to standing weeds, add Apparent Wetter 600  Surfactant to thoroughly wet foliage. Rates will range from 125 mL - 500 mL/100 L depending on product used. Consult product labels for individual recommendations and restrictions.

Fire fighting

Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant is an efficient aid to fire fighting. It increases the wetting power of water which assists in quick control and mopping up of fires

Mixing

Apparent Wetter 600 Surfactant mixes easily and quickly with water and should be added direct to the

pray tank. It should not be added direct to undiluted sprays containing wetting agents.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

Keep out of reach of children.

Store in the closed, original container in a cool, wellventilated area. DO NOT store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight. Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank.

DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush or puncture and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the containers below 500 mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots. Empty containers and product should not be burnt.

SAFETY DIRECTIONS

May irritate the eyes and skin. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. When using or preparing product, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing), elbow-length PVC/rubber gloves and goggles. If product on skin, immediately wash area with soap and water. After use and before eating, drinking or smoking, wash hands, arms and face thoroughly with soap and water.

FIRST AID

If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131126. If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly.
