BellyLabs - Pregnancy Test for Dogs

Early detection rapid dog pregnancy test for domestic use.

The Bellylabs dog pregnancy test is intended to determine pregnancy in a bitch as well as to distinguish between pseudopregnancy and a real gestation. The test measures relaxin hormone which is a reliable indication of pregnancy.

For the best accuracy we recommend testing after 28 days has passed from ovulation. There is no harm in testing earlier, but there might not be enough hormone for a reliable detection yet. Although there are virtually no false positives.

**Gestation days may vary if calculated from mating and the time of ovulation is unknown. A progesterone test can be performed to precisely determine ovulation before mating.

Bellylabs Pregnancy Test for Dogs is based on measuring relaxin hormone which is produced by a placenta and therefore present during a dog’s gestation. Relaxin hormone is a very reliable biomarker for determining a dog pregnancy.

Bellylabs has developed unique canine relaxin antibodies for the test and the company has an international PCT patent pending for the antibodies. The patent process itself requires a lot of science-based evidence.

In general, during the product development, Bellylabs has had over 30 different dog breeds in the test pool and over 100 dog breeders involved in the development process.

The final study regarding the accuracy of the test (96%) involved 70 performed tests (28+ days post-ovulation & negative). The test was compared to a confirmed medical diagnosis (ultrasound).
